Our Philosophy

We carefully curate watches that we would love to see in our personal collections, while making sure to offer a varied selection for our worldwide customer base. Our inventory comes to us organically from private customers, fellow collectors, and other resale dealers. 

Each piece is thoroughly inspected to ensure its authenticity and quality. Being in the watch business for over 30 years, I stand fully by each product, and if something isn't right, HQ Milton will make it right. Our in-house watchmaker Justin, who previously worked at the San Francisco Rolex Service Center, closely examines every watch that comes to HQ Milton, performing a service when necessary before the watch is sent to you. 

If you offer a piece to us in trade or to sell, we will evaluate it based on the condition of the watch, the secondary market demands, and our needs for inventory. Understand that there are many interesting and beautiful pieces that we might not be able to make an offer on given the current status of our inventory, though we always appreciate the opportunity.

    Scott Kaplan, Founder

    Scott Kaplan founded HQ Milton in 2008 after spending 17 years in the family Jewelry and Loan business. After becoming a certified gemologist, working with jewels and diamonds for many years, Scott left the family business to follow his affinity for the beauty and utility of timepieces. 

    For Scott’s personal collection, he looks out for co-branded, or “double name” watches such as the 1665 Tiffany Sea Dweller, stone dial Day-Dates, and anything that has natural and even patina.

    Quincy has spent her whole life around watches. Now she not only helps customers add amazing pieces to their collections, she is also behind the scenes managing the operations of HQ Milton.

Nothing is more important to us than your trust. After over 30 years in the business, I guarantee your timepiece is 100% authentic and as described or you will receive a full refund. Each watch is inspected by myself and our certified horologist, Justin. Our photographer takes hyper-detailed photos of our pieces, presenting to our customers each characteristic which makes the watch special. From unpolished, patinated pieces that are 60+ years old, to unworn modern pieces, we want you to know precisely and accurately what you are buying. Once you purchase a piece, we will give it a final inspection, fit the bracelet for your wrist size, and ship it fully insured via FedEx's highest priority.
